How Would a P-3 Brake Controller Install on a 2009 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 4x4, w/7-way trailer connector, for the Tekonska P-3, do I need the plug-in wiring adapter, or does this model not have factory plug? I am in Afghanistan at the present, so I cant actually look for myself.

In 2007 General Motors quit offering the plug in type connectors on these vehicles with a factory tow package. These models have four (possibly five) blunt cut wires under the left side of the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The wires can be identified by a white label and the color of the wires. The wire colors are (1) Red/Black wire, (1) White wire, (1) Light Blue/White wire and (1) Dark Blue wire and possibly (1) Orange wire.
There are also a couple connections you will need to make under the hood of your vehicle also. Check out the FAQ article I attached that shows how this is done.
Basically, all you would need to install a Tekonsha P-3 Brake Controller # 90195 on your 2009 GMC Sierra is just the controller itself.
