There should be a tag somewhere near the tongue of your trailer that has the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of your trailer on it. That would be the max that your trailer can weigh. If you are trying to figure out how much weight you have loaded (or how much weight you can load) then you simply need to take your trailer to a commercial scale, park and uncouple it on the scale, and then drive your tow vehicle off of the scale prior to them weighing it for you.

Other than that, you can make a rough estimation by adding together the weight ratings of your axles (found towards their middle) or if you know the year/make/model you should be able to find those ratings online as long as your trailer isn't really old.

Once you know the weight of your trailer or how much your trailer can weigh at its max, we have tools like the tongue weight scale #e99044 to help make sure the tongue weight of your trailer falls in the 10 - 15% range of the loaded weight of your trailer for safe towing.
