Can Trailer Have Different Ply Tires
Question:
Can I install two 8 ply tires on one side of my rv trailer and two 10 ply tires on the other side? What I have is one bad tire of the four. Do I have to buy four new tires?

It is strongly recommended that you replace your trailer tires so that they are all the same size and load range; so while you can have trailer tires that have different plies, a trailer's ply is tied into its load range.
Tires that are the same size but a different load range will be inflated to different psi's, and this will cause your trailer to track unevenly and cause suspension problems that are going to be more expensive than four new tires.
For example, if you needed a 225-75/15 tire the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10256 is 8 ply has a 2,540 lbs capacity at its max 65 psi while the same tire in a Load Range E # AM10303 is 10 ply and has a 2,830 lbs capacity at 80 psi. You always want to inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi to give you the best performance and gas mileage.
If you let me know the tire size and load range you need I can recommend the best option for you, and I've also added a link to our entire selection of trailer tires for you.
