Pilot Trailer Brake Controller Brake Output Wire Connection
Question:
Where does the blue brake control output voltage wire connect to?

Expert Reply:
The Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller - Time Delayed # 80550 brake controller output wire connects to the 5 o'clock pin of your 7-way trailer connector. Depending on the vehicle, you may have a custom wiring harness under the dash for a direct connection to existing wire or you may need to run wire like # 10-1-1 from the blue wire on the controller back to that pin location. I've attached a photo to assist with the 7-way pin functions. If you don't want to splice your controller wiring, you can use the Pigtail Wiring Harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Brake Controllers - 34" Long # 7894 which will mate with the connector on that controller.
I've attached an article detailing brake controller installation from start to finish. If you give me the year/make/model of your vehicle I can give you more specifics if desired for wiring options if you have a factory tow package.
