Solution for Atwood Landing Gear Jacks that Need New Motor and Gear Box
Question:
Hello, I have a Atwood MPD 71119 12volt electric motor on my HRC Presidential 5th wheel, which is getting tired. Are there replacement motors and gear boxes for this application? I know you recommend the LC141893, but I dont care about the faster speed. I want a more powerful one. Would the LG196308 with the LG179015 gear box fit? Or are there others that would work? Also dont want to spend more than necessary as may be trading this 5ver in. Regards,

Expert Reply:
We no longer have replacement landing gear parts for the Atwood landing gear sets as that company has gone out of business and the replacements you mentioned will not work without modification, so you'd need to replace the powered landing gear with a new set. The highest capacity set that is similar and will bolt right up is the Stromberg Carlson landing gear set part # LG-3 which has a 6,500 lb weight capacity.
Most similar sets have a 5,500 lb capacity like the part # LG-1.
