Will the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a 2012 subaru outback. Does the thule T2 still not fold up as shown in the video, or has that been remedied? Also, in your experience, if i have a 2 inch hitch, should that fit the 2 inch thule, or will it fit both 2 and 1 and 1/4? thanks very much.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR, # TH69TX, will fold, it just depends on how much clearance there is between the rack and the vehicle it is on. In order to determine if the bike rack will fit when folded on your 2012 Subaru Outback, there is one important measurement you will need to take.
Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the Outback to the distance required to clear the rear bumper of the vehicle. If that distance is less than5 inches, the rack will fit when folded. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on the carrier to the nearest wheel cradle is 5 inches, so as long as the measurement on your car is less, the rack will fit.
If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch on your car, this rack will fit inside of it regardless of the brand. I do know that on a Curt hitch we installed on a 2011 model, the distance was 2-3/4 inches so the rack would fit on it. But, when we installed a different hitch, it was 7 inches, so the rack would not fit on it when folded. So you will have to measure to determine fit.
