How Heavy is the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for a Ford Super Duty Prep Package
Question:
When it comes to getting this hitch in and out of the truck bed when not in use, how much does this hitch weigh?

The Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921 weighs in at about 155 lbs which isn't light but it is about the same amount of weight as most of the other 5th wheel hitches out there.
If you want something that is much lighter then I recommend the Demco Recon # DM8550045 which weighs in just under 110 lbs and installs on a hitch ball like the B&W # BWGNXA2061.
Aside from the way that these 2 hitches install and the 1,000 lb difference in weight capacity the biggest difference is that the M5 uses a single jaw to secure the king pin while the Recon uses both a single jaw and a 3/4" think locking bar for extra security. I have attached some review videos for both that you can reference.
