Recommended Bike Rack for the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Toyota Avalon
Question:
I had a Curt #C12107 hitch installed on my 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. I need a recommendation for a Bike rack to carry at most 2 bikes. I plan on using the hitch only for a bike rack. The bike rack needs to be installed easily and come off easily since I plan on storing it in my trunk when not in use and not too heavy? After reading through the QandA it appears the Draw Tite hitch would have been a better choice since it doesnt require a support strap, but its too late since the Curt is already installed on my car. Thanks

The bike rack that I recommend using with the Curt Trailer Hitch # C12107 and Stabilizer Strap # 18050 on your 2015 Toyota Avalon is the Thule Camber # TH9058 for a few key reasons.
The first reason is that hanging racks are lighter than platform racks (this one only weighs about 28 lbs) so moving it around and installing/removing it from your trailer hitch will be easier than some of the heavier bike racks. The second reason is that the cradles are set in place on the arms and are spaced out 7" apart on center to make loading your bikes easier.
Thule made this rack easy to use as far as the tilting and folding features go, but they got down to the essentials with this rack so that it would be at a more cost-effective price-point than some of their other high-end racks.
We do typically recommend installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitches for use with bike racks because the stabilizer strap isn't required but the Curt trailer hitches will still work great and I believe you'll be very happy with this combination!
