Adjusting Spring Bars On Equalizer System
Question:
I am wondering if the bar position once installed should basically be parallel with the tongue frame, as opposed to slightly ped or raised at the “free” end? As you can see in the attached picture, I have the correct on my hitch for the trailer and Jeep, [2014 Grand Cherokee], to sit level when connected and “equalized” but my bars are high on the free end. [this is all per instructions from your website on proper ball hitch height to tongue height etc.]. I believe this is causing extra load stress on the hitch and frame......and more hitch friction noise. On occasion, particularly cornering or backing up it is of concern. Your advice and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to get the bars more parallel with the frame I recommend dropping the bracket down one hole and tilting the weight distribution head towards the trailer to even them out a bit more. Although from the photos of the Equal-I-Zer system part # EQ37100ET your spring bars look fine. As long as the spring bars are parallel to the trailer frame and ground, it should not cause an issue for you with backing up. These systems are loud when backing up or taking corners when setup perfectly.
