Question:

Is there any instructions or recommendations on how and where on the jack a weld can be placed? I don’t want to distort a part with the heat and inhibit it’s operation. Thanks.

Direct weld-on installing Bulldog Square Jack # BD180354 requires two 1-inch-long 3/16 fillet welds on each side of the outer tube. The instructions do not limit what part of the outer tube can be welded.

If you choose to use a pivot tube the non-beveled side of the pivot tube is welded to the tongue using a 3/16 fillet weld all around the tube. The written instructions are linked for you and these detail the various installation options as well as recommended maintenance.
