Anti Rattle Device That Can Be Used with Weight Distribution

Question:

My hitch has a lot of movement in a 2inch receiver so I was interested in a hitch clamp. But it doesnt look like they are capable of handling travel trailer loads. We have a 5400# trailer and utilize a WDH. Do you have a recommendation for eliminating the sloppiness I currently have.

With the amount of spring bar force at work with your weight distribution it is surprising that you are experiencing any type of movement in your hitch. The spring bars should be placing a substantial amount of tension on the shank against the walls of the receiver, thus keeping it firmly in place.

That being said a # RM-061 could be used on the shank of your system and would help reduce movement. Position the U-bolt around the top of the hitch receiver and place the bar on the bottom of the weight distribution shank. As you tighten the nuts on the Quiet Hitch, the shank will be pulled up towards the top of the receiver to help balance the downward force that is placed on the hitch from the weight distribution system.
