Hydraulic Trailer Brakes Locked Up When Backing Boat Trailer
Question:
On Saturday, I went to move our boat trailer with a 5 pin wiring set-up. I moved the trailer forward and backwards without any problem. On Monday, I went to back the trailer into the water to recover the boat and the brakes locked up. I checked the adapter and all was working well. The trailer lights were working if I recall correctly. I later noticed that the white trailer ground wire was no longer connected. Is this my problem or is there something else since my trailer lights were working?

A bad ground can cause all kinds of problems and that is going to be the best place to start checking. You will also want to check the vehicle and trailer side connectors for corrosion. Since everything was working fine, though, chances are that it is the ground that is causing your problem.
It sounds as if the electric reverse lockout was not working which could be a result of the bad ground. But you will also want to check to make sure that the wire to the solenoid and the solenoid itself on the actuator are all intact.
