How to Determine if Thule Hullavator Will Work on 2017 Volvo XC60
Question:
Hi, What type of roof rails would I need with the Hullavator to install on a 2017 Volvo XC60. The roof is more narrow than the body. I currently own roof rails purchased from Volvo but I do not think the crossbars are long enough. Thanks

Expert Reply:
The Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 will require your 2017 Volvo XC60 to have crossbars that extend 4" beyond the feet and are spread at least 24" apart. If that is what your current rails are then the Hullavator will work on your vehicle.
If you do not have those dimensions I recommend taking a look at the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs # MPG114MD-351XL which does not have the same requirements as the Hullavator. The reason for this is the Malone unit attaches to the kayak carrier itself and allows you to use that is its anchor point.
