Plug-In Adapter for Installing Tekonsha Prodigy P3 on a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-350
Question:
According to the information on the fitguide there is a vehicle specific connector cable making it appear to be plug and play. The answer on another page for a 350d I have a 2016 GLE 350 4matic by Jon G is that it is not plug and play and would have to be hardwired. Is the answer just for a 350d or is my GLE 350 with a factory hitch good to go with the Prodigy P3 Code 90195-3066-P? Also, do you list the specific location around the steering column area that there should be a Mercedes connector to plug to the wiring adapter? Thank you.

The answer page that you are referring to was actually completed a few years ago and at the time nobody had a plug-in option for the brake controller. I had contact different manufacturers and they all said that it had to be hardwired.
Since then, as you have found, a plug-in adapter has been found so all you need to install the Prodigy P3 # 90195 on your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-350 is the Plug-In Adapter # 3066-P. This is the option you can go with if you have the factory 7-Way. If you don't have the factory 7-Way then you will need to install the wiring kits # 119250KIT and # ETBC7 to provide you with wiring for the P3 as I highlighted in my previous answer.
You can find the connector for the plug-in adapter under your driver's side dash if you pull back the carpet that sits behind your brake pedal. I have attached the instructions for the adapter as well as a clip from the instructions that shows the steps you need to take for the install.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We try to keep our info as current as possible but sometimes need info becomes available and older questions need to be updated to reflect this new info.
