Spring Seat Spacing on Dexter 7K Axle 8327864-EB
Question:
Have a dexter 7000# axle. It measures exactly 94 inches from drum face to face but measures about 78 maybe 78 1/4 inches between spring pad centers. How accurately are the spring pads located when welded by manufacturer? should be 79 inches Am I correct in assuming that part #8327864eb would be correct replacement?

Axle spring seats will be welded in place using a jig so that their positions are pretty much exact. Our 7K axles with the 94-inch hub-face-to-hub-face dimension, shown on the linked page, have spring seats at two slightly different distances, 78-1/4-inches and 79-inches.
Dexter axle kit # 8327864-EB does indeed have spring seats placed apart at 79-inches on centers.
