Possible Tire Chain Solution for 2018 Mazda CX-9 with Tire Size 255/50R20  

Question:

chains? snow tires? Hi- Heading to Tahoe for week, manual says no snow chains for 2018 mazda cx-9 so what then? pay another 800-1k for snow tires for one trip? what are other mazda drivers doing for this scenario. Current tires are Ecopia Bridgestone 255/50r20......

The best solution is to contact a Mazda dealer in an area near mountains and ask them what they recommend people do. On one hand you don't want to void the warranty of the vehicle, and on the other you want to be able to be compliant with snow chain laws as well as not get stranded. Normally dealers in mountain areas will have a suitable compromise.

We had the chance to install the Titan chains part # TC2324 on a 2016 Mazda CX-9 like yours and found they fit well. These are also Class S rated which means they are designed for low clearance applications. These are priced great too so this might be the compromise that would work best. Check out the install video link I attached for the chains on a 2016 CX-9 as well.
