Removing Terminals from Winch Quick Disconnect Connectors

Question:

The contacts in the red housing were inside snapped in, how do you remove them so I can clamp the wench leads in place?

Expert Reply:

Sounds like you are trying to pull the metal contacts out of the quick connect assembly. What you'll need to do is insert a slot screwdriver down into the opening end of the connector with the slot perpendicular to the opening so that you can depress the metal tab that holds the pins into the house and allow you to pull the lead out of the back of the connector.
