I took a look at the online copy of the owner's manual for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and no matter what engine you have if you do NOT have the Trailer Tow Package the maximum trailer weight you can tow is 2,000 lbs. If you DO have the Trailer Tow Package and have a 2.0L engine your capacity is 4,000 lbs and if you have a 3.2L your capacity is 4,500 lbs.
The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your '19 Jeep Cherokee is the etrailer Hitch # e73ZR because it has a concealed crosstube and is a bolt-on installation that will not require drilling into your vehicle's frame to install.
This Class III, 2" trailer hitch is almost entirely hidden behind your bumper, as you can see by the accompanying photo a customer sent in of this hitch installed on their 2019 Jeep Cherokee so you can see what it will look like when installed on yours. This hitch has a black powder coat finish to protect it from corrosion and comes with a lifetime warranty.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56406 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
