Is Mopar Wiring Harness Required for Flat Towing 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Im seeing several posts implying that the Jeep owners manual may wrongly state that an additional harness is needed to power the steering system. Can you validate this for a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk?

I was able to find the owner's manual for your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and it does not mention the Mopar Flat Tow Wiring Harness 68321424AB as a requirement. This is only required for certain years of the Jeep Cherokee. It sounds like you may have seen something in your owner's manual stating that you need this wiring harness. If that is the case you want to follow what the manual says or verify this with the dealer.

I also recommend checking your owner's manual and reading the Recreational Towing section to make sure you follow the exact procedures Jeep requires to make your vehicle flat tow ready. You will only be able to flat tow your Jeep if it is equipped with the 2-speed transfer case that has neutral.
