Can I Install Curb and Rock Lights Above My Axles Connected to Turn Signal But Solid Light?
Question:
I am re wiring my trailer and looking for advice. I am wanting to install rock light or curb lights above my axles to turn on when I use the turn signal. I am trying to find a way to use the turn signal on the trailer as a continuous signal so the curb lights dont flash. All lights on the trailer are getting converted to LED with all new 7 way wire from front to back. I am going to experiment with various capacitors and relays. I just seeing if you may have an answer for me to save a lot of time

The easiest way to get your curb or rock lights above your axles to turn on is to connect them to your brake lights. You can isolate that signal using the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 and then the lights will turn on when you hit your brake pedal so you can see the curb or any rocks near your axles. This won't work to make your turn signal activate but instead your brake pedal.
This is the only way of wiring I can think of to get you the function you desire unless you want to add a direct switch from your vehicle to run that 12V power through the accessory pin of your 7-way to give you a separate wire on your trailer. For that you would use # 10-1-1 wire from the vehicle battery to circuit breaker # 9506P to a switch like # PK34571 and then to your reverse/accessory pin on your 7-way which is the center pin. Then on your trailer, you would simply wire those lights to the center pin.
Your only other option is hardwiring the light to your running lights to keep them constantly on. This doesn't sounds like what you want, but it is another option.
