Connecting Hopkins Wiring Kit to Nighthawk Tow Bar on Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Per the recommendation of your website, I bought and installed the following items from your website for my 2017 Jeep Wranger jk: 1 Brake lite relay, RM-88400 2 Direct connect base plate, RM-521448-5 3 Nighthawk all terrain tow bar, RM-676 4 Hopins wiring kit, HM56200 The issue I am having is that the Hopins wiring kit is a 4 prog connector and the nighthawk to the jeep is a six prong. I also want to install the invisabrake and I know that ties into the Hopins wiring harness. My question is, can I just use a 6 to 4 adapter and will this effect the invisabrake? Also, do you all make a mountable 6 to 4 prong so it is easier to just plug into the base plate mount vice having an adapter just hanging off the bumper/tow bar?

What you need to do is cut off the 4-flat of the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56200 and wire it into the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676. If you take a look at the accompanying diagram of the Nighthawk's install instructions you can how it will need to be wired in as opposed to using any type of adapter.
As for the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 you can install that in your Jeep and you are going to need to splice the wires from the included connector with the braking system into the wiring kit, they do not directly connect to one another. You will need Butt Connectors # DW05745-5 for this.
The diagram on page 2 of the linked instructions for the InvisiBrake show how this is done. I have also added links to a couple video installs of this system on a Wrangler for you to take a look at.
