Recommended 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch Extension and Wiring for Boat Trailer Behind In-Bed Camper

Question:

I have a 2019 F350 short bed srw with a 2 1/2 inch receiver. I am buying an Arctic Fox 865 and would like to pull my boats. One is a 17’ Lund fishing boat, the other is a 21’ inboard ski boat, not as heavy as a runabout but heavier than the Lund. I also recently bought a 2 1/2” weigh safe hitch from you. What extension would be best for this application? I do not know the length of the camper beyond the bumper yet as I have not taken delivery but it has a 9’4” floor length. Thanks in advance

It sounds like you need about a fairly long extender and there unfortunately is not an extender that isn't also a reducer for your 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver. My recommendation is to use the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long # C45048 which has the same capacities as the similar Reese # RP45292 and then use a more cost effective option for your ball mount like the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900. This will give you an adjustable ball mount compatible with the extension since your nice Weigh Safe ball mount won't be compatible. You also may want to consider using a wiring adapter like the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter 7-Way to 5-Way Flat with Nite-Glow # HM47025.
