Can I Triple Tow With a 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5
Question:
I currently have a 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 4wd crewmax pick up and a 2019 Forest River Surveyor Travel Trailer. The loaded weight of the travel trailer is around 7500 pounds fully loaded. Can I pull a 6x12foot utility trailer with a UTV having a wet weight of 1200 pounds?

Expert Reply:
If the combined weight of your loaded travel trailer which is 7,500 lbs and your loaded utility trailer which 1,500 lbs for a total of 8,700 lbs is less than the towing capacity of your 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 then yes, you can triple tow. If you do not already know the towing capacity of your Tundra there is a guide you can use on page 177 of your owner's manual. To use this guide you will need to know your model code which is found on the certification label inside the driver door jamb and your engine code which is stamped onto the driver side of the engine block or you can simply call the dealer with your VIN and they can tell you.
In order to tow your utility trailer with your travel trailer you will need to install a trailer wiring harness and hitch on your travel trailer. If you do not already have these items then I recommend a frame mounted trailer hitch like the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13702 and a hardwire harness like the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C58044. The less lights you have on the utility trailer the better as the vehicle's trailer lighting circuit will be responsible for both that of the utility and travel trailer.
I do not recommend triple towing if both trailers have brakes.
