Inno Roof Rack Recommendation for 2008 Toyota Prius
Question:
Considering purchasing this roof rack kit due to the extra weight capacity as I would like to be able to carry two kayaks on my 2008 Prius. My Prius has no existing rails or crossbars - only the black rubber strip drip rail strips. My questions: Descriptions says it is non-locking, but the pictures appear to show keyed locks. Which is it? How does this compare to similar models in the same price range in terms of weight of the rack itself and fit for my specific car? I dont want to spend $450 and find out there was better similar or cheaper option with a better, safer fit and aeroblades are preferred, but would consider something better. I know these install with rubber pads, but do they stay in place over time and will not damage vehicle paint, etc. if left on permanently? Thank you.

The Inno Aero Bar Roof Rack part # INXB108-2, # INXS200, and # INK705 is a great option for your 2008 Toyota Prius. It does come with locks and also the aero shaped bars help minimize wind noise. This rack does install using door clamps and the feet then rest on rubber pads on the roof of your vehicle. Over time these racks hold up just fine. I'd periodically remove the feet and clean them and the vehicle paint to prevent any scratching but even that is really unlikely. Value wise this is a great rack. It's not the cheapest out there but the quality is very high and you do get what you pay for. Similar quality racks cost about the same but then require you to buy locks separately which pushes the price much higher.
