Availability of Trailer Hitch for 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport

Question:

I see that there are some hitches for the Elantra GT but all seem to explicitly exclude the Sport model. I assume this is due to the exhaust configuration while not a center exhaust, it is perhaps in the way?. Im wondering if I missed something that might exist already for this car or if there are plans to build a hitch for this vehicle. Thanks!

You are correct that there is unfortunately not a trailer hitch available that will fit the Sport model of your 2019 Hyundai Elantra. It does look like it's the slightly different exhaust design on the Sport model that prevents a fit with the trailer hitches for the base model Elantra.

There is a chance that a hitch might become available for the Sport model but there is not one for the 2018 Elantra GT Sport either, which means it is pretty unlikely.

If you are looking to transport your bikes with the Elantra your next best option is with a trunk-mounted rack. I really like the Thule Gateway Pro 2-Bike Rack # TH88VR (which is confirmed to fit your vehicle) because of its FitDial system that will securely mount to the vehicle and Hold Fast anti-sway cradles that secure your bikes while also preventing side to side movement during travel. Locks are also included to help protect your investments.

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out, along with a link that will take you to our complete selection of trunk racks that are confirmed to fit your 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport.

If you plan on carrying any children's, women's, or alternative frame bikes you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and increased ground clearance. I have included a video demonstration on the adapter bar so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
