Available Spare Tire Covers and Carriers

Question:

How do I remove my old spare tire cover and replace it with cover ? I cant get to the lug nuts due to the cover being tight against the trailer. If I cut the old cover off then how do I get the new cover around the spare tire and get the lug nuts back on and secure ? Thanks.

CE Smith Spare Tire Cover # CE27440 is designed to be slipped over a mounted spare tire. It does not require you to unbolt the spare from the trailer or tire carrier. If you refer to the linked photo you'll see how the elastic hem snugs the cover over the back of the tire.

If your old cover needs to be cut off you can probably then pull it out from between the tire and the trailer. If the spare is so close/tight on the trailer that you cannot slip the cover over the back edge of the tire then you might install some spacers to give you a gap between the tire and trailer so the new cover can slip on.

Or if you prefer to use a new spare tire mount to give you more clearance you can refer to the linked page that shows all types we offer. These include bumper-mount carriers like # TR-1, frame-mount types like # FHDSTC0101 and hitch-mount carriers like # 6715.
