Recommended Class S Snow Chains for 2016 Chevy Tahoe with 265/65R18 Tires

Question:

2016 Chevy Tahoe Snow Chains I understand the owners manual states there is not enough clearance for snow chains. I have 265/65R18 tires can you please recommend the best chains that require the smallest amount of clearance. Will the König XG-12 or something similar work, as they only need 12mm of clearance. Thanks.

For your 2016 Chevy Tahoe with 265/65-18 tires I recommend the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro - Size 267 # TH01594267. We have confirmed this fit for your vehicle and I've attached a video of these 12mm internal clearance chains on a 2017 Tahoe to assist. The D shaped links will provide better traction than cable chains. If you have the clearances needed, this is definitely my recommendation over cable style chains.

If you want even more clearance, we have the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains - Light Truck - 1 Pair # TC747DC as well as the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PW2028C. These cable chain options don't specify the clearances needed but they are less than the 12mm of the D-links mentioned above. The diagonal design will give you a smoother ride than the ladder style cables and come with the tensioner required. For the ladder style cable chains you will also need adjusters like # PW105 to keep the chains tight.
