Tire Chains for 2013 Chevrolet Suburban
Question:
I have a question on tire chains for my 2013 Suburban with 275/55r20. The owners manual says if these size tires are on it not recommended. I understand if putting them on the front due to turning, but being on the rear, does that make a difference? I seen the cable chains you have and dont look like it takes up that much room. I just want to be safe. Headed to the snow this winter and sometimes they require chains. Thanks in advance.

Since the owner's manual says to not use tire chains with the 275/55R20 size tires, I cannot make a recommendation against the owner's manual. The manual states that there is not enough clearance to allow for the use of tire chains and that another form of traction device should be used. Since chains are not recommended, we have not tested them on that specific vehicle to know if the chains interfere with another component.
If you decide to use tire chains in order to comply with local laws, Class S tire chains are lower profile chains than typical tire chains. Class S chains were designed for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance and may be an option for you, but I strongly recommend test fitting the chains before using them to ensure they will not damage something on the vehicle. When choosing between cables and chains, chains will perform better and last longer. The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2327 are Class S tire chains with the diamond-style pattern and have steel square links. I have attached a review video on these chains for you.
