Lippert Center Point Trailer Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade Kit LC1565391

Question:

I am looking for to upgrade to airride suspension. Came across this kit on your site and was wondering if you had any information as to how these will perform compared to a factory installed airride system. I own a 2018 40foot 22gn big tex deckover with 10k dexter axles. Will these work with my trailer? Also what will happen if say the airbag gets a leak or pops? Will I be able to still drive for a period of time or will the trailer become immobile?

The Lippert Center Point Trailer Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade Kit # LC1565391 will give performance similar to a factory system but much better than standard equalizers because it absorbs impacts caused by road shocks and it provides a smoother ride and optimum brake efficiency.

The installation requirements include that the trailer have a standard center hanger sized for a 1 3/4-wide leaf spring, with at least 2-1/2-inches from the equalizer hole to the top of the hanger and that it be 3-inches wide or wider. The product instructions are detailed and cover all the considerations for installation; these are linked for you.

Once installed if the Center Point system is leaking, add air to 100 psi and begin troubleshooting at the fitting connections with soapy water. If the leak cannot be traced to a fitting connection, the air gauge and the fill valve are the most likely pneumatic parts to leak. The most unlikely component to leak is the air bag.

If there is an air leak or a complete loss of air in the system, the trailer can still travel. Mechanical bag stops that are standard on the sub-units allow Center Point to be operated on the trailer without air in cases where travel is necessary. However, prolonged use in this condition can potentially accelerate the wear of the stop plates.
