Will the Thule Motion XL Rooftop Cargo Box Fit a 2016 Acura MDX with Factory Roof Rack

I noticed you replied to one person about the fit of a Thule Hyper XL on a 3rd Gen MDX 2014-2017 with factory rails and cross-bars I have a 2016. The answer suggested that it wouldnt quite fit, although very close based upon hatch clearance. Have you actually tested this? I found someone who posted a photo of the Hyper XL attached with a comment that it clears both the antenna fin and the hatch. Ive scoured the internet for a complete answer to this, and although it seems like the front clearance is too long 50 5/8, the shape of the Hyper XL may allow this to work. It seems a case of the numbers not matching up with actual experience, but figure this is something you guys can easily check. The Hyper XL is about the only box out there that has large capacity AND fits long skis that can fit on a factory rails and cross-bars for the MDX. Thanks!

The Thule Hyper XL has been discontinued. The Thule Motion XL Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH629807 will fit on a 2016 Acura MDX with the factory roof rack. You will simply need at least 51-1/4 inches from the center of the front crossbar to the seam of your hatch for clearance. If that measurement is too large, then you will want to look at a smaller box option. The fit is available of each product page.
