Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ram 1500 5-1/2 ft Bed
Question:
What are my options for goose neck hitches, please quantify/justify the recommendation. My truck has 3.92 ratio gears and is rated to pull ~9,200 lbs, payload is ~1,510 lbs. I plan on pulling a 3 horse goose neck trailer with two 3,500 lb axles, GVWR = 7,500 lbs. Trailer will probably weigh about 4,000 lbs.

For your 2018 Ram 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed there is only one gooseneck hitch option that is confirmed as a fit and it's the B and W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1309. The great news though is this is basically the nicest gooseneck hitch on the market so even if there were other options this would be still what I'd recommend. The Turnoverball hitches are very well made right here in the USA, the ball flipping mechanism/release is very easy to use, and the hitches are very reliable so it will work great for as long as you have the truck. This also fits the versions of your truck that have the air suspension and ones without it.
