RoadActive Suspension for 2018 GMC Sierra Denali with MagneRide Suspension

Question:

I need to add just a small amt of help to my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 4WD. I tow a 5500 lb Lance travel trailer with a 650 lb hitch wieght. I carry about 800 lbs in the bed also small motorcycle, generator, bbq. I am using an Anderson WD hitch. This truck has the Magnaride shock system. My wife has a back issue so ride is very important. I am thinking the Roadmaster is the way to go in this situation, though I do read in the reviews that this system raises the unloaded height, seems like alot 1-2 inches in some cases. I really dont want to raise the rear much, it already sticks up quite a bit, a little would be ok though. I would also consider air bags, have had many sets in the past, but I read most do not work with the Magnaride shock system on the truck. I would consider some other product also but nothing that causes a sharp jarring hit when unloaded like some of the jounce bumper types can do, however I am most interested in the Roadmaster Active system and hoping the system wont raise the truck too much in the rear and that it is compatable with the Magnaride. Thanks!

Thank you for all of the details about your towing setup.

I spoke with my contact at RoadActive Suspension and he said that their suspension system # RAS2611 (which fits with your MagneRide suspension) may raise the height of your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 when it is unloaded but it would be about 1/2", not quite the 1-2" that you mentioned. He did state that some of the people who state that it raised the height of their truck that much is likely because their OEM suspension is older and so there is some sag, but since you have a newer vehicle it shouldn't affect the ride height very much.
