Troubleshooting Trailer Landing Gear that Clicks When Weight is on Jacks

Question:

Our 2006 Mountaineer landing gear wont raise the trailer , we have bought a new motor ,gearbox, and gears, shaft etc. from you folks it works fine if the weight if the trailer us on the hitch but will not raise with the weight on the legs. The gear box it sounds like clatters before it gets to the hitch height. I need help.

Sounds like a weak battery or bad wiring to it. Make sure your trailer's battery is in good shape and is charged. The clicking sound you are hearing typically indicates a bad motor that's drawing too much, a weak battery, or bad wiring from the battery to the motor.

It sounds like your two landing gear legs are no longer level with each other. If this is the case you should be able to remove the cross shaft and then crank the leg up using a wrench. If I don't understand your issue correctly let me know.

Hey Chad, yes the Lippert stabilizer jack system part #LC298707 is the current replacement for the 1917771. It's actually twice as fast as what you mentioned so it will be a really solid upgrade.
