How to Control Sway With Trailer Hitch Not Rated for Weight Distribution on 2019 Kia Sorento
Question:
I was wondering why the hitches available for a 2019 sorento can't be used with weight distribution? I would like to be able to use one to at least control sway.

The trailer hitches available for your 2019 Kia Sorento are not rated for use with weight distribution due to the vehicle and not the hitch itself; the frame of your Sorento does not have the strength to allow for the higher weight ratings that a weight distribution system can offer.
The good news is you can still use sway control with a trailer hitch such as the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 75908 that fits your 2019 Sorento. All you will need is the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 and Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003.
What you will do as attach the sway control unit to one side of your trailer tongue and add the sway control bracket to your 2 inch ball mount, as you can see in the accompanying photo.
I have added links to video reviews of these products as well as a link to our selection of 2 inch ball mounts and trailer hitch balls; if you are unsure of the rise or drop you will need on your ball mount I have added a link to a help article which explains how to determine that.
