Solution for Installing A-Frame Trailer Jack on Frame with Lower Jack Hole that Doesn't Line Up

Question:

We have a 2014 livin lite 16DBS aluminum framed trailer. We have ordered a new coupler as well as a few other items from etrailer. I have received the coupler and it looks impressive. However when I position the coupler on to the aluminum frame the hole for the Jack on the trailer and hole on the coupler do not line up. If I line up the holes the coupler has roughly a 1/4 gap along the either side. So what can I do? Sense there are 3 holes on the side of the coupler, can I bolt on a piece of steel or aluminium to fill the gap? Or can I have a welder weld on a piece of steel to fill the gap? Or is there another option that I am not aware of?

You could use a spacer on your trailer frame to allow the Demco Coupler part # DM14793-95 to fit and have the jack hole on the top and bottom match up. Or you might relocate the lower hole or remove it all together. Most A-frame trailers don't use a lower jack hole like what you have so getting rid of it all together would make the install a bit easier.
