Wiring to Flat Tow a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Behind a Motorhome

Magnetic tow lights, like part # TL21RK, do their job just fine, are less expensive, and don't require much to setup so they're not a bad option by any means. The only real drawbacks to them is that you need to set them up or take them off each time you change from towing to driving the Jeep. They also have a chance of scratching the Jeep's paint since they're being attached to its surface each time. We often recommend them if you're not going to be towing the vehicle very often or if you're going to be towing a variety of vehicles.

If you're going to be towing the Jeep fairly regularly you most likely will be happier with a permanently installed setup. It takes more for the initial install but once it's installed all you need to do each time you tow is plug the Jeep and motorhome into each other. We're big fans of the # RM-15267 because it includes everything you'll ever need. You end up with a 6-way connector on the front of the Wrangler which is beneficial to add additional wires if you need to power a supplemental braking system or add a charge line, part # RM-156-25, to maintain the Jeep's battery while towing.

If you don' t need a 6-way and only need the lighting functions you can stick with a 4-way connector. The easiet install for your JL is part # TR118821. It's one complete harness that needs to be spliced into the tail light circuits on the Jeep.
