What is the Heaviest 5th Wheel Trailer a 2019 Ford F-250 Can Pull

Question:

I understand this is a vehicle specific question so sorry, but when looking at the 2019 ford super duty towing chart there is a portion that shows 20,700 lbs for gooseneck hitch rating and 18,000 for the 5th wheel hitch rating. I’m curious if the gooseneck to fifth wheel companion hitch allows me to tow at the gooseneck rating of the truck.

I understand what your reasoning is behind using the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch to retain the towing capacity of a gooseneck trailer for a 2019 Ford F-250 but frankly, I would not be able to give you a yes or no answer as that is going to be up to the manufacturer to decide. If I can be honest with you I am sure they would not allow for this as you are still technically towing a 5th wheel trailer even though it is attached using a gooseneck hitch.

With that being said, the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch maxes out at 20,000 lbs so even if the manufacturer did allow you to use the towing capacity for a gooseneck trailer, the B&W Companion would limit you to 20,000 lbs.

If you were to choose a 2019 Ford F-350 with dual rear wheels and the factory prep package you could then use the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30922 which has a 27,000 lb towing capacity. The truck will then be rated up to 27,500 lbs for a 5th wheel.
