How to Prevent Rear End Sag While Towing with a 2012 Ram 1500

Question:

My truck sags quite a bit when I tow my boat, Id like to get the rear of the truck back up to stock height while towing. Will this system do that?

Yes, the Firestone Coil-to-Air-Spring Conversion Kit part # F2595 is going to help take the sag out of your 2012 Ram 1500 while hitched to your boat trailer. This system will actually replace the leaf springs on the truck with a set of air springs. I would actually recommend you take a look at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57365 instead because these will also help take the sag out but won't replace the coil springs on the truck. Therefore, if you ever have a blowout you won't lose any of the capability of your vehicle's suspension.

In order to make sure there are not any issues with the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57365, you need to take a quick measurement between the jounce bumper strike plate and frame (see photo). As long as you have at least 8-1/8" you will be good to go. If you do however decide to go with the Firestone Coil-to-Air-Spring Conversion Kit part # F2595, I highly recommend an air compressor kit like the Firestone Air Command I part # F2158.
