Troubleshooting Audio Not Working on Hopkins Smart Hitch Camera and Sensor System # HM50002

Question:

HM50002 Hopkins camera stopped beeping when backing up The device seemed to work flawlessly for the last month or two, since installation from an Authorized Chevy/GMC dealer on my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500. Out of the blue the audio suddenly stopped working yesterday. It appears as if the volume is still set for mid range, so I dont believe that is the issue...Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 may have had the sensors bumped. I recommend checking the sensor locations to see if adjusting the sensors makes a difference first. If that doesn't solve the problem, alternate modes from hitch mode to everyday mode to see if that makes a difference. After that, disconnect and clean your connections. Use some dielectric grease like # 11755 to keep moisture and debris out of the connections. If it isn't a sensor issue, it most likely is a connection issue as that audio will be aligned with the grid function and will have one of the pins isolated for that audio feature.
