How to Wire Replacement Landing Gear Switch

Question:

I have a 1991 27.5 fifth wheel Fleetwood Prowler. The landing gear switch does not work anymore. The landing gear motor works. There is a black, white, blue and red wire going to the switch. There is a lock on the switch with two blue wires but they look like theyve been cut. It belonged to my mom and dad who have both passed away several years ago. Pretty sure they bought it brand new. My son was using it but bought another used RV. Now we would like to sell it. We use jumpers from a battery to bare spots on the two wires to raise and lower the landing gear right now. It would be great if you could recommend a new switch with how to wire it with this particular setup. Since we are selling it were not looking for anything fancy but just something that works. Thanks!

Do you know who the manufacturer of the landing gear is? That would be the only way to know for sure if a switch will work so the best option is going to be the Replacement Switch # LG-145236 which is designed for Stromberg Carlson landing gear but will work with most electric landing gear sets, such as Lippert, Venture and Atwood.

Wiring this is pretty straightforward and I have included a diagram showing you how it is done (the switch also comes with written instructions). You only need to connect the red and long black wires on the switch to the red and black wires on your landing gear motor and then the pink wire (with the fuse) and shorter black wire to your battery's positive post.
