Question:
just received a replacement cover from you. I see that the cover slides in from the side, but once in, impossible to connect the lifting rod and vice versa. If I connect the rod, cant slide in cover. Whats up? Nice cover though!! Thanks

What you will have to do to remove the old lid and install the new one is to first open the vent by turning the knob. With the lid open, go ahead and remove the screen, knob, and the control arm. The screws to the control arm can be difficult to reach and you may have to bend a plastic piece out of the way to get a screwdriver in. Use care when bending the plastic piece as it could snap which I know from first hand experience.
You should then be able to slide the control arm off of the lid to the rounded hole on the central support arm. make note of the placement of the metal retainer clip between the control arm and support on the lid. It will need to be repositioned correctly for the lid to open and close correctly.
Remove the lid from where it is connected on the outside. Replace it with the new lid. Reattach the control arm and screw it back in to the central support where it was mounted. If you determine that it is not opening/closing correctly, reposition the retaining pin. The control arm will have to be taken off again to reposition the clip. Replace the screen and then the knob. Turn the knob to make sure the lid will fully close and open and you will be done.
