Hitch Extender to Provide More Clearance at Lock on Swagman Bike Rack

Hi, I have a fairly tight space to lock my Swagman bike rack into the 2inch hitch. My current lock is too long. Is there any way this lock will work with my Swagman rack? Kuat HLT. If the threads are the same it seems it would work. Please advise. Thanks!

With bike rack pins and locks the fits are usually product specific, or they are at least brand specific. It is very rare for a lock from one brand of bike rack to match the threads in the shank from another brand. The Kuat part # HLT you mentioned is intended for certain specific Kuat bike rack models that are listed on that item's page.

You could install a short hitch extender like # HE06 to give you easier access to the rack's pin but please note that use of such extenders does reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 50-percent.
