Trailer Hitch Compatibility with 2015 Chevy Trax and Towing Component Fit
Question:
I am looking for a class iii hitch for 2015 chevy trax

For your 2015 Chevy Trax there is not a class III hitch receiver from any of our manufacturers. They do offer Class I Curt Class I - 1-1/4" # C11527. You can use this hitch with a hitch expander like # HTAD to make it compatible with 2 inch accessories like a bike rack. You will however lose 50% of the trailer hitch's rated tongue weight when using an expander like this so the max tongue weight would then be 100 lbs. I don't recommend using the expander for towing.
If you need trailer wiring I recommend # 118659 which is a custom fit. It will connect behind your tail lights. If you will be towing I recommend ball mount # 36061 which comes with a pin and clip. You can then use hitch ball # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or # 19257 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter ball.
Let me know if you have further questions.
