Converting 4-Way of Trailer to 7-Way to Power Interior Lights

Question:

I just bought a brand new 2019 Commander Series enclosed cargo 7×12 trailer and love it. But, I do not like the fact the interior light only works if i have my lights on my truck on. I want to rewire the 4 pin to a 7 pin connector and have the ability to run my interior light in the trailer regardless if the trucks lights are on or not. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I am a trailed mechanic i just have 0 experience with trailers and wiring but i can follow my way around a schematic. I cannot seem to find a diagram to this trailer to see how the light is wired and such. Tha is for the information and any help!!

You'll need to upgrade your 4-way to a 7-way so that you have an active 12 volt accessory circuit that you can then run to your interior lights. For that you'd want the part # HS381-9000 which comes everything you'll need on the trailer side.

For the vehicle side you'd need a 7-way an active 12 volt circuit too. If you have a 4-way then all you'd need is the # 37185 and to run the black wire to the positive post of the vehicle battery with a 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) through a breaker like part # 9510.
