Automatic Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch to Fit Ford Factory Rail Kit that Could Fit Under Tonneau

Question:

I recently purchased a 2015 Ford 350 with the prep puck system. The bed is regular so I like the Pullrite Superglide 2900. It does fit the Ford adapter rail kit however, it does sit pretty high. In fact, because of this I can not use my sliding bed cover. Is this height to be expected or am I using the wrong superglide?

Fifth wheel hitches can be pretty tall. Especially if you use a rail kit adapter like the # RP30156 which will add 2-3/4 inches from the floor of the truck bed to the top of the rail kit adapter. Most likely your Pullrite is going to sit too tall to fit under your truck bed but I have a great option that's similar. The Demco Hijacker Auto Slide part # DM8550024 fits the factory Ford rail kit you have in your truck and is height adjustable so that it could pretty easily fit under your tonneau cover. Also, the handle of it does not point up like some of the hitches have which is normally the biggest issue for tonneaus. I attached a picture that shows this hitch installed and you can see that it's right at the same height roughly of the bed rails. The hitch height adjustments of this hitch are 15-1/2", 16-3/4", and 18-1/4" so you might measure from the floor of your truck bed to those heights to see if your tonneau would fit.
