Recommended Replacement Lead Leg for Bent Leg on Jayco 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
Greetings Jason, I measured the various lengths on my trailer leg and the distance from the outside of the bracket to the outside edge of the bracket is 15.25"... Seems considerably smaller than the standard 17.5" and so I'm not sure it will fit? I will add that the length from the inside of the bracket to the corresponding inside edge of the bracket us 11.25" and the brackets them selves are 2". That leaves a chunk of leg a the top which is about 8.25" and the bottom from the bottom of the bottom bracket to end is another 7.75". Making the total leg length about 31.25" Attached is a diagram... Lastly our trailer weighs in at about 13,000 lb so, I'm not sure how sturdy of a leg I need Thanks for your help!!

For your 2018 Jayco 5th wheel 29bhds, determining the weld stop locations will help you determine the correct replacement lead leg for your trailer. For instance the typical weld stops are 17-1/2 inches from outside to outside like you find in the Replacement Lead Jack w/ Drop Leg for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear - 29-1/2" # LG-179013. However, there is another option that is also a standard fit in the 21-1/2 inch outside to outside measurement of the Replacement Lead Leg for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear - 33-1/2" # LG-177202.
If you simply measure your current lead leg for those measurements you will find the compatible lead leg replacement for your Jayco trailer brackets but you will also want to match brands because the threads can be different and then not work at the same rate for raising and lowering..
