I've attached the owners manual for your 4900K model which is similar to the # MA00-04500K model. It sounds like your operator mechanism is bad according to my tech contact at MaxxAir. For your 4900K model you will want the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA10-20281K-1AF.

If you can't even manually lift the lid, this mechanism is definitely the issue.

I have the same model fan and the lid will manually open and when the power button is hit it will automatically close. However, in the closed position the fan will not come on and the lid will not open. The fan does not come on in with the lid open or closed.

This sounds like the circuit board is likely bad on your fan. For a replacement you can use part # MA10A21275K.

@ChrisR My vent open and vent close switch doesn't work. Vent does go up and down, when I cut the fan on. Switch tested good. Any suggestions? Thanks,

@Steve Are you able to operate it manually and is the rain sensor cleaned off?
