What is the Max Height of the Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Bag # RRLB500
Question:
What is the total height once the bag is packed to the brim? Also, do I need a basket for this or can I put this on top of cross bars?

The max height of the Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Bag # RRLB500 is 11-1/2".
Technically it will "fit" on your crossbars but it is a soft bag so it will likely rest on your roof between the crossbars. This is actually okay and a lot of people will just fit it between the crossbars and toss a Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad # RL100650 under it for extra protection to your roof. If your roof can handle the weight of your cargo then go for it, but if it can't handle the weight or you would rather not have the bag touching your roof you would need a basket.
For this route I recommend either the Cargo Basket # RMCB02 or the Pioneer Rack # RR42115BF.
