Where Can Tow Bar Wire be Grounded With Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit
Question:
The installation video shows a self tapping screw attaching the ground wire from the harness within the tail light housing. Since the tail light bulbs are obviously factory grounded why cant the ground wire be attached elsewhere on the towed vehicle frame such as directly to the battery ground. Do you see a problem if I choose to ground the harness at the battery rather than in the tail light assembly? I need the ground wire up at the battery to connect the battery charger that came with the brake buddy. It seems redundant to run the ground to the tail light if its connected to the battery or frame at the front of the car. Thank You.

It is always preferable to attach the ground directly to the chassis frame, and where you can safely ground the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 depends on if the owner's manual of your 2018 Toyota Corolla iM specifies a location that you need to attach the ground wire.
I cut out a portion of the installation instructions of this kit for you to check out and as you can see it is possible you may need to attach the ground wire at a specific spot to avoid damage to your Toyota's electrical system.
