Troubleshooting MaxxAir Fan Issue with New Motor
Question:
Fan opens, closes will not turn. This happened after a recent rain storm, the fan was operating and then failed. The fan will not start. Its only a couple of years old. Recently replaced the motor but it has been running fine for maybe 25 to hours.

It sounds like your MaxxAir MaxxFan Trailer Roof Vent has a powered lift like # MA00-04500K but has a connection issue. It is getting power for the lid to open and close but not for the fan function. I recommend testing your wiring using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to make sure you are getting power to your fan switch and if so if power is getting to your new motor.
If you test the motor with a battery and it works, then you know you have switches or wiring that is in need of repair. There is circuitry in this unit so a rain storm may have damaged the unit.
If you need a replacement, you may want to consider the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote - Powered Lift - 10 Speed - Smoke # MA00-07500K which has a built in rain shield or the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Powered Lift # FV803350 which has a rain sensor to close the vent when it senses rain.
